At Discount Steel Buildings, we believe strongly in the importance of providing excellent customer support. One essential individual in our support system is your project coordinator. At the beginning of each project, we designate a project coordinator who is available to serve as a resource and provide you with guidance throughout the planning, design, and construction process. There is no additional charge for the assignment of a project coordinator to your building project. Your project coordinator is always happy to answer your questions and help smooth over any issues that might need resolution.
Your project coordinator is a steel building professional with a wealth of experience who will assist you in a number of ways. After receiving your order, he will contact you to review the layout of your building (width, length, height, etc.) and confirm your initial requirements. Once the basic layout is confirmed, you’ll receive a color chart detailing the options for exterior paneling and trim. The mailing address for the building’s plans and the precise location of the job site will also need to be obtained. Following this, your project coordinator will send you an extensive questionnaire regarding the design of the building. The questionnaire will inquire about building usage, number of occupants, ceilings, openings, and other criteria that will help flesh out your design.
Your project coordinator is attentive to your project from start to finish, and can even interface with other interested parties, such as architects, engineers, or local city or county building authority personnel, if needed. He will also ensure you receive a helpful guide with direct pricing on any additional components you may want to complement your building. He can make recommendations regarding insulation, doors, and windows, always keeping your budgetary requirements in mind. After receiving your completed questionnaire, he’ll review the final building design with you. Next he’ll ask one of our estimators to assess the design and confirm that it will meet your exact specifications.
Before the fabrication process moves forward, your project coordinator will provide you with finalized estimates of the cost for your signature and approval. Once approved, your project is placed on our master schedule and a drawing is produced to assist you with the construction of your building. The project coordinator will review the drawing with you and you’ll also be contacted by the shipping department, which will provide you with the preliminary C.O.D. amount for your building. If you need help selecting an erector or general contractor, your project coordinator can send you a list of construction personnel in your area who are very familiar with the assembly of our buildings.
After the building is delivered, your project coordinator will check in with you to ensure the shipment was complete. During and after the construction phase, your project coordinator is available to answer any questions that you may have.
