DiscountSteelBuildings.com is happy to make such extremely expensive and sophisticated software available to the general public.We do not think it is unreasonable or invasive for us to ask for a person's name and email address before granting access to this system. As the policies outlined in this document indicate, we need the information we ask for, and we have no intention of misusing it.
Email Addresses
As well as assigning account numbers, our system identifies user accounts by email address. That does not mean users will receive email from us. However, those who order products or request special quotes must provide a valid email address and must be willing and able to receive and respond to emails from DiscountSteelBuildings.com (see below).
Email Updates
DiscountSteelBuildings.com may or may not send unsolicited email. We maintain a mailing list, and we do occasionally send emails to our users who have agreed to receive them. We average about one such email every three months, and we only send them to alert our customers to significant events like sales, price increases, system upgrades, policy changes, and new product offerings. We never release the names and email addresses to advertisers (spammers).
Mailing List
Users can choose to be on or off of DiscountSteelBuildings.com's mailing list at any time. After users create an account or price a building, they can check a box to remove themselves from the mailing list (Unsubscribe). All of the emails we send, through our mailing list, have an "unsubscibe" link, at the bottom, that users can click, to take themselves off the list (users whose email feature does not display live hyperlinks, can copy the link and paste it into their web browser). Users who have removed themselves from the list, will not receive email from DiscountSteelBuildings.com, unless they make a purchase or request a special quote (see below).
Spam and Third-Party Promotions
DiscountSteelBuildings.com does not buy, rent, or otherwise acquire lists of email addresses from outside sources to be used to generate sales leads. We also do not sell advertising space to other companies on our site, we never include third-party promotions in our email, and we will never display banners, pop-ups, or other advertisements on our site. If such advertisements appear during a session on DiscountSteelBuildings.com, they are being generated by an outside source and are perhaps the result of cookies or spyware placed in the user's system by some other web site or software product.

DiscountSteelBuildings.com communicates important information about orders via email and phone; therefore, customers who purchase products online, must provide us a valid email address and phone number, where they can be reached during the day.
Special Quote Requests and User Information
Special quotes, which we process manually, require a lot of administrative work and engineering time, and we often have to contact users to clarify information about their requests. We will not generate> these quotes quickly if we have to spend additional time trying to find people, and we will not provide this free service to anyone who gives us false or incomplete information. When users submit a special quote request, the system automatically sends a confirmation email to the address entered by the user. If that email is returned as undeliverable, we will not process the special quote. Users who submit a quote request but do not receive the confirmation notice within 24 hours should call us during office hours toll free at 800-840-1699.

Our online pricing system must be able to identify users and keep track of the choices they make as they move through the program. To do this, we create a small file on the user's computer called a cookie. Its only purpose is to give users access to our system and make it function properly. It never records any information that users do not deliberately give us, and it does not track users' movement or collect any information about them after they leave our site.
Credit Card Numbers
DiscountSteelBuildings.com does not store users' credit card numbers. When a user pays by credit card, the card information passes through our SSL secure socket to Authorize.net which authorizes the transaction and sends it on to Vectra Bank, which processes it. Consequently, no one can steal credit card numbers from DiscountSteelBuildings.com, and we cannot make unauthorized charges on someone's account. We can, however, void transactions or credit an account by contacting Authorize.net and referencing the transaction number.
